“King David said to his son Solomon: `Be confident and determined. Start the work and don’t let anything stop you. The Lord God, whom I serve, will be with you. He will not abandon you, but he will stay with you until you finish the work to be done on his Temple.’”

1 Chronicles 28, v20

Rev'd Paul HullyerRestoring today's church for tomorrow's people

Dear friends,

St. John the Baptist Church has stood at the top of Pinner High Street for almost 700 years, a witness to the redemptive and inclusive love of Jesus Christ. The building has seen many changes in that time, and reflects the history of the Christian faith in Pinner. It is an integral part of the wider community, as is reflected not just in the regular worship of God, but also in the fact that it is used for events such as the Pinner Music Festival, the Music in Pinner Series, school visits and concerts, occasional concerts and exhibitions, memorial services and much else throughout the year. The church is open 365 days a year, and is much used for private prayer and devotion.

The building was last extensively restored in the 1880s, and we have been working for the last nine years to make necessary restoration to both inside and out. I hope that you will be able to support us both financially and in thought and prayer as we seek to complete this exciting project of restoration in time for our 700th Anniversary in 2021.

Yours,
Paul Hullyer
Vicar of Pinner
