Bell Information

In the Bell tower there are eight bells. All were recast in 1771 by Messrs Pack & Chapman. In 1926 the bells were re-tuned and re-hung with new fittings and framework, and the tenor was re-cast.  Weights of the bells and the key in which they are tuned are:

On the smallest treble bell is the inscription "Although I am light and small, I will be heard above you all".

The present Ringing Chamber was constructed in February 1979 with twelve steps up from the ground floor. This reduced the draught of the ropes from 40 ft to 30 ft which made ringing easier with less rope stretch. The rope guides were installed in St Martin's Church, Ruislip.
